Figment! Poem by Daniel Ukwe

In the corners of my mind
There exists a creature kind
A figment of my imagination
A product of my contemplation

It dances in the moonlight beams
And basks in the sun's warm gleam
It speaks in whispers to my soul
And makes me feel truly whole

It takes me to a distant place
Where worries and fears have no space
And shows me wonders yet unseen
Of meadows-green and oceans serene

But as I arose from my reverie
The figment fades away from me
Leaving me with just a memory
Of a world that could never be

Yet, still I hold on to the dream
Of a world where nothing's as it seems
Where figments roam and magic's real
And anything is possible to feel
