Film Stars On The Dance Floor Poem by Alan Bruce Thompson

Film Stars On The Dance Floor

It was the Peacock Parade in the Ballroom,
The male dancing demo before Full Moon.

Each male acted out his Filmstar role,
Prancing, strutting, flouting, nothing like a stroll!

Their partners were chosen for meekness not beauty,
So that the night would remain male, tough and snooty!

Fond-of Henry pulled Meekie Maus to the middle of the floor,
Henry's eyes flared as he saw New Paulman come through the door.

Paul ignored Henry pushing Betty Droop to improve his score,
Dream Mardin sailed past with Mon Marylo thinking ‘what bore! '

Henry outstared Paul as Cheston Harlon waltzed on by,
Paul stood on Henry's partner's foot - who let out a cry.

Dream and Mon won the Prize of the Dancing Sail,
Henry and Paul gazed at each other, wishing it was all male!
