Feet On The Ground Poem by Alan Bruce Thompson

Feet On The Ground

Rating: 5.0

The Euphoria of Cloud Nine without a sound,
In love, floating weightless above the ground.

Entwined, uplifted, spirally upwards swirled,
Just we two suspended, drifting above the world.

Or is it really, that only you are allowed in my dream?
But in any case, shrouds of unreality, whisps of a scream?

All of a sudden a smell of new mown grass
Wafts me down, brings me back, how crass!

I was here alone, alone all the while,
Just my travelling mind searched for your smile.

But either grass or ground, and you in mind,
With neither there would be too unkind!
