Find God In Such Times Poem by Terence George Craddock (Spectral Images and Images Of Light)

Find God In Such Times

turning to others in times
of need grief desperation
is a skill not all learn well
some do not learn at all
those of us who hurt most
who need most are often
incapable of trust sharing pain
grief problems if we cannot

find God in such times
it is very easy to fall
in depression pain
sorrow anger because
the good will love support
of caring friends relatives

cannot always penetrate
such intense pain without
finding God some of us
would be lost unlikeable
I always remember honour
the lines when looking at
broken hearted people
'there but for the grace
of God go thee and me'

God lives in all the best I do
lesser irritable sentiments
in times of stress ill health
before I remember my God
are like a fleeting shadow
of what a Godless me could be
