Find Yourself Poem by Saswat David

Find Yourself

Rating: 5.0

When the stories shift like sand,
You feel like an outcast in your own land.
Trying to swim in an ocean of uncertain,
Sinking, but not making an effort to halt the closing curtain.
The storms in your dreams don't let you sleep,
With mighty winds threatening to carry you on a bad trip.
Though you wonder why you're still there,
You're still there - on your feet, standing strong.

When you don't want to know the answers,
Questions are pointless and of no use.
About where it was lost,
And why she is no longer your muse.
When you wonder how the bonds so strong,
Could so easily shatter before they could be grasped,
Be your own pillar to lean on,
Find yourself, and write your own song.

Joy seems to have lost its way to you,
Trying to find it, you venture into the world so new.
It is harsh and the search disappoints,
Joy is hidden, lost in notes and coins.
It's not locked in a small prison away for eternity,
"It's trapped in you", says every prophecy.
Look inside and regret no more,
Open your wings and let them soar.

When every cause and battle seems lost,
Feelings and emotions are locked in a dungeon of frost.
You curse yourself for being there,
But you're still there - on your feet, standing strong.
When you roll down the hills of felicity,
And no one's there pick you up and rid you of the toxicity,
Be your own pillar to lean on,
Find yourself, and write your own song.
