Holding On Poem by Saswat David

Holding On

I had promised infinity and beyond,
Yet like your heart this promise I broke,
Causing a wound so deep,
Even time can't find a way to cloak.

In spite of all you don't let go,
You still hold on,
Just enough so that I see every tomorrow,
Above the waterline not shallow.

There's no running from the past,
One can only try to accept,
Integrate the lessons of yesterday,
Conceive the best future to not regret.

Though we drift farther than ever,
Yet we touch just barely so,
Like a wormhole in space-time,
Till infinity and beyond.
