First Love Affair Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

First Love Affair

First love affair

Normally I avoid speaking
And give inkling
To my first love affairs
I think "to speak is totally unfair"

If we take seriously the conscious call
It shall never invite our social fall
Or warrant some boycott
But you are cautious for not being caught

But memory draws my very far in past
Now I must shed light very fast
And then take it behind screen
Not to appear again and again

It shall give full honor
To love affair
That I had really entered
And my whole attention was centered

Even that might have proved untimely gesture
I was unsure of stable future
So I went in for arranged marriage
To sit with set norms in life's carriage
