First Meeting



I am nervous as I sit across from you
Wondering who you are
You look at me—I start to blush
Yet longing from afar
Your eyes dark brown-pristine smile
My interests you peak
Paralyzed in anticipation
I long to hear you speak
Your lips they part-you begin to start
Your beauty doth unfold
Upon my ears your words do fall
Sweet story that you told
Melodious was the tune you sang
And precious was the rhyme
My heart sank rather quickly though
We were running out of time
It was now or never had I thought
I must move to make a chance
The risk I took from just one look
No—it was more like a glance
The deed now done I had to run
I kissed you upon your cheek
But in my head I would have instead
Kissed you ….
