First Thanksgiving Poem by Randy McClave

First Thanksgiving

It's Americans greatest story
For the pilgrims they all saw only glory,
When they first landed on Plymouth Rock
There their ships they did dock.

When they came unto this new land
When they first stepped foot on the sand,
They brought with them their beliefs and also their sneezes
And they also brought their bad habits and diseases.

The Wampanoag was a great nation
They helped the pilgrims prevail from starvation,
Because, the Wampanoag needed friends and many allies
They found the immigrating pilgrims as a great prize.

The Wampanoag have known of past white traders
Many of them were all known as evil raiders,
Who had came to their land before to take and to steal
And also to rape and to burn and also to kill.

It's now an American holiday with pride
The time were many native Americans suffered and died,
Which we celebrate our happy way of living
It is known to us as Thanksgiving.
