Fixed Until Broken Poem by Anthony Joseph Erangey

Fixed Until Broken

Oh how I've bent and twisted my frame in two.
For just a heartbeat to worship you.
The beat turned to hours, days too,
then in a blink, my entire youth.

I danced to your tune oh guider of strings.
I paid your price of everything.
I never rebelled, i sheltered neath your wing.
And to all I met your praises, I would sing.

But you, the insatiable beast,
had a taste for me, and you would feast.
I became no one, I was the least.
You scoffed at me Oh heinous priest.

I was obedient seeking your favor,
and from your altar, i would gladly savor,
The burning abyss from which you would never waiver,
until I was no longer your favorite flavor.

Make me laugh, and laugh as I cried,
push me backwards and all hope denied.
Turn me into your urn of alabaster, white.
and hear me scream, no more, please Master. Why.
