Flame Of Life Poem by Bryce Edward Coast

Flame Of Life

Tested
Is the flame of life
That burns within us all
Joy fervors the intensity
Woe puts it in a sprawl

Through blessings gained
And loved ones lost
We come to know true meaning
Here in a world that gives, then takes
Faith's always intervening

After each storm
Has done its will
Resilience, hope survives
Returning like the sunshine
When a brand new dawn arrives

Although the healing takes a while
The flame goes on despite
Somehow, someway, we break a smile
Though desolate the night

Doing what we can
To make it last
Refuel desire
Endeavoring years of tears
Trying to not let time expire

Holding out until the day
We're wrapped up in the wings of mercy
Taking us unto a place
Where there is no more controversy
