Fleer Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fleer

Fleer

Wonderful was to be
-a child with much feelings
-for large world combined with
-eagerness for learning, observing.

Family, for the time
-was not big…containing
-two daughters and sons six.

In times boys felt close
-to friends of outdoor; not indoor.

Each of us went own way.
-Can claim: "Oneness was broken…
-times of need brought us together, united."

I felt this when was in theatre
-and picnic in mountains…

First instance happened when film stopped
-audience had break, I saw my brothers
-each of us came alone, separate
-no hi and no bye and no mention
-of it; we never talked!

In latter, three were together;
-second, fourth and myself.
-Were late so decided to stay in mountains.
-All we had was single blanket; as mattress and cover!

Our oldest, Mohammad
-had come there with friends
-we, three, proud and to ourselves.

I feel forced to fleer and fleer and fleer…
-when recall memories…remember…

At night, late
-sky full of flares
-with stars, blueness,
-the cold turned to killer.
‘Two' and ‘Four' on my sides
-and I was in middle; infant in cradle.

Wind showed teeth and howled
-blanket was pulled by brothers
-till was torn right from its center!

Raised proud, stubborn
-we took that, did not go to others.
- "Better dead than being embarrassed! "

Memories of that night are alive
-do not think that will die.
- "Imam-Zadeh-Davood" or "Shrine of David"
-which was one of the suburbs of then Tehran
-…was too far with no car and no bus!
-Going was possible on the beasts or by walk…

Nearby, a village was very special
-name of it was "Kiga."

Rumor said: "Its people…"
-Did I see? No, never!
- "…are twisted in eyes…"

Walking on time trail
-I fleer and fleer and fleer.

Such cases are reasons
-why I lost religion!

"Dawood was Imam's son;
-and worried to be caught was on run…
-asked people respect his secret and not say…
-police came…
-they remained under oath and silent …
-but signalled with their eyes "Just is God…
-punished them! Their eyes are twisted…"

Story of "Kiga",
-as well as "Jam-Karan" are made-up
-and have changed my mind, thoughts
-in believing mullahs "They mislead with their lies! "
