Flick Of Light 2

I say to you I like your idea
Except that the whiff of it makes me uncomfortable
I’m afraid it may lead you to the cliff
And I have to say it

Unfortunately, before any justification of the flick of light
You get hot under the collar
And gesticulate against the whiff of my adjunct
The gist of it lies behind the flick of light
And I’m the only one to unravel it

I have simply placed a net through which I want the chaff to remain behind
For your clear mind to see the seed
Whether I’m weak or strong, you might hate me because the warning may have come true against your pride
Whether I’m weak or strong, you may equally resent me because the ill advice lost you the opportunity to gain by luck

I promise you, my love is true and not blind to infatuation
However I have let the string loose because your mind is mightier to mind your life’s excursions
The cliffs and valleys along the roads and highways may be hidden from the light of your mind
At vintage point I may see what lies behind the bend by the limit of haste
Yet ignorance of the raised placard may let you skirt or scoop the earth with no pick but ash

Either way, the ray of light may be true to the miss or hit
Either way, the smell of gunpowder could spoil the relationship of light or darkness
