Flood Child Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Flood Child

Flood child

Canada is smashed and crushed by sky
-shamelessly came clouds and shattered
-dreams of humans, the lakes and animals,

Wanted to have a chat
-looked above, overhead
-sought place and the time
-to converse, start talk
-how could I?
-when I wept and clouds
-shed tears; formed flood

I follow miseries of flood
-all over Canada
-stories break heart

If true is the book
-on flood; Ararat's
-in the north of Iran
- (which I doubt)
-then I am flood-child

Though the book as told us our prof
-"Is nothing but some lies, well-compiled! "
-"It is worth reading it word by word…"

To me is…mean the book
-a writing on the rock
-its reading is a must
-since is my history
-my loss and victory
-by nature, in culture
-everything…

Flood is part of us and has been
-I recall when I saw, as a child
-rolled stone on stone
-each of them size of house
-and trees looked as hays

I feel you brothers and sister…
