Flores De Mayo Poem by Liane Carlo Suelan

Flores De Mayo

Bitter winters buried me
In what fell like feathers
Accumulated and amassed

It felt like paperweight
Upon already pressed, bleached
And fragile self

But seasons change
And your warmth melts my burdens
I become soaked in this
Newfound sensation - emotion
I break and recede into the earth
To later emerge anew

Leaves basking in your light
Buds opening
Petals fluttering in your love
