Flower of the Spring
The sun will soon beat upon you

Flower ofthe Autumn
Whisper to the leaves that soon
Chill and wind will wreak
Their doom

Flower of the Summer
Song of the wine
Drunk in the deepest ecstasies
At noon

Then
Flower of the Winter
You pride yourself on
Closing the old year
Open the new year
With chill and ire
And frost increasing
Rain and thunderstorm
Gale-howls and lightning
You
Flower of the Winter
Take to you so many
Yet
Alsoinspiration yield
In drops tight-fisted.
