Flowers Are Flowers Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Flowers Are Flowers

I was desert flower
Fully dependent on rainy shower
Never easy to reach me
As thorns were around to feel free

What kind of beauty I was called?
Any desperate bid to pluck me was foiled
I was neither appreciated nor adored
But not one sought it to be explored

Yes, my eyes got attention
When someone approached with tension
It was uncertain attempt
But was certainly earnest

"Flowers are after all flowers"
They have lot more to offer
Like fragrance to flow gently
With the help of wind slowly

It speaks of closeness
The shine is on face
Love speaks and
Heart strikes

Exchange of love is soft
Fast and prompt
It is now time
That may take no more time
