Flowers In Spring Poem by Phil Soar

Flowers In Spring

The Tulips are out now
Colours brighten the greyist of days
Lighting the view
With a effervescant zing
And although showers are forever present
The colours brighten my day

We expect UK Aprils will always be mixed
Wind and rain
Days without blue
Skies a dreadful grey
But we look forward to those days of blue
Though they are infrequent

Looking forward to summer
When at least there may be more of them
Blue days
Where the warm sun speeds up growth
And summer bulbs bless our gardens
With multiple layers of beauty

Then the odd shower is welcome
Freshening up new shoots
Energising both the garden and us
Getting out there
Breathing in the atmosphere
And taking in the sight

Of Colour
