Fly By Night Poem by Jake Deeds

Fly By Night

Rating: 5.0

On top of the mountain and beside the stream
Where the switchbacks converged and split the seam
And the eddies swirled and churned moonbeams
I fell in love within a dream……

And in the absence of black and white
Vivid colors illuminated an endless night
And down the mountain the stream took flight
In my slumber of superlative delight

Was it truly a dream or only surreal
This vision of Rainbows in a wicker creel
And a length of bamboo and a rusty reel
That all led to this envisaged Zeal...<><

This is an amazing vision! Although you are uncertain of its origin or even its nature, your memory retained sufficient detail to make it almost palpable, and yet the mystery element still prevails and we are left with doubts about its reality despite the deep impression it made. EVents like this take us outside of ourselves and give us a sense of how big reality truly is.

I was immersed in the swirling eddies of your moonlit stream. Beautiful imagery.

Shades of Coleridge glint from this one Jake.. Funny how the dream is often more vivid than the reality... You've conjured up an enchanting scene... If we could only stay in such moments just a while longer.. or go back to them now and again. No fish?
