You only needed respect
For me to spend some time
To sit and listen 
To care what you thought
To just be there 
To honor you 
To show you are the world to me
But I didn't 
I was to busy
I was to distracted
Worried about things that didn't matter
Worried about things I couldn't change
Looking past what was really important
I caged you in
I made you less of who you are
I stifled the beauty of you
Now you are free
Fly like you should
