Folklore And Faith Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Folklore And Faith

No proof we see, no test we run,
When earthly life is said and done.
No bodies shift, no souls take flight,
To lands unseen, beyond our light.

Some talk of worlds, a hidden space,
Where thoughts may live, at their own pace.
But science looks, with careful eye,
At things we touch, beneath the sky.

The brain, it seems, when life departs,
No longer beats with pulsing hearts.
And 'dimensions' in a physics frame,
Are tiny folds, that bear no name

Of places where the spirit goes,
Or where a second journey grows.
These are the dreams that humans weave,
In tales and faiths, we all believe.

But not the world of number, force,
That science charts its steady course.
No new dimension, vast and deep,
Where silent, sleeping souls may keep.
