Fond Memories Of Ireland Poem by Francis Duggan

Fond Memories Of Ireland

Rating: 5.0

Hibernia's wild shores i may never more see
Since i have left Irelandbut Ireland has not left me
Though i have not seen it for years and from there live far away
In my visualizations i visit it often sometimes every day
It was the yearn for the wander that brought me far south
Of the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout
But the mental images in me today does remain
Of the brown hills half cloaked in the grey fogs of rain
Ireland in her migrant sons and daughters has much to celebrate
Among the best Worldwide some of them does rate
As a Country of changes for the better Ireland does lead Worldwide
To the people of Eire this a sense of pride
And though from there in distance i live far away
Fond memories of Ireland are with me today.

Fond memories related with long stay in a nation are a source of joy for ever, after migrating to another nation, during every trip down the memory lane. A great poem throwing light on human psyche. Thanks for sharing.
