Food Word Therapy Poem by Esther Moe

Food Word Therapy

Turn a toxic feeling into something 'a-peeling'
Waves of fear are waves of root beer
Panic attacks turn into Big Macs
Anxiety, sweets and tea
Move over doubt, here comes rainbow trout
Worry becomes apple slurry
Depression, a giant delicatessen
That uneasiness is your casserole's cheesiness
Shame is marshmallows on a flame
So next time you're feeling sad
Imagine a whole plate of Pad (Thai)
On a serious note, don't let these feelings float
In your mind, find someone who's kind
Who can help you through it
That's the best way to do it
