The Quilting Lady's Blessing Poem by Esther Moe

The Quilting Lady's Blessing

Rating: 5.0

Needle, pincushion, and thimble in hand
Turns fabric to quilts, rustic and grand

Begins with a block of colors that match
Works through the day to lengthen and patch

Loves to labor, stitching fiber with thread
Prays for children who'll cherish her spread

Passing the time while sewing each section
Stretches and pulls in different directions

Tacking and batting though she is tired
Sews till dusk, her resolve admired

Zigzags and pivots, quite skillful and deft
Binds cloth to border, the last task left

Bless them with her craft, 'tis always her goal
Quilt is completed as is her soul.
