For All Malice, For All Good Poem by Jade Leven

For All Malice, For All Good

only change could bring to sight
what I have glimpsed, but not understood
for all malice, for all good
doom and pain within their might

if nothing ever did give way
to something new and unexpected
we'd be living in a world neglected
a fate for which we'd have to pay

we fear what may or may not be gained
but we must be thankful in a time
when being honest is a crime
and caring actions are so strained

who knows what the future might hold?
the brightest midnight, the darkest dawn
fond memories so close to gone
winters hot and summers cold

certain doubts in days of strife
may come about and not be named
but we should hardly feel ashamed
they appear so often in this life

on one occasion, beauty wept
for she once had owned the earth
but she then questioned its true worth
as both integrity and courage slept

wounds will heal and souls will mend
so softly the wind will blow
carrying secrets we'll never know
rules will break and laws will bend

the power of love will live long
as we always imagined it would
for all malice, for all good
these bleeding hearts have to be strong
