For Barry On Abuse Poem by chris schwartz

For Barry On Abuse

Rating: 5.0

Maybe someday, I will be able to close my eyes and rest. Without the echoes of you...the one who silenced my dreams, the one who altered my presence, in this world. Maybe someday, I will see green fields, with room to run without fear; Room to fall without tears. But for now, I am still here. And so are you. The race to the finish is mine. You can't take that away from me. The Bruises you left on my cheek will not carry with me to my grave. You will live with the color purple, daunting your sky, your ocean, and your landscape, all in your hour of rest. And I will shine down, as a star from the Heavens, still glowing, even though you put out my light.

An abusive and sad relationship beautifully captured. Nice poem deserving a 10. Please kindly check my poems HOPE and THE BEAUTY OF DEATH and leave your comments
