The stars have come down
To Earth, to dissipate the woe,
And towns in their glow do drown.
Gathering under the mistletoe,
People share their love and hope.
Everywhere stand the trees so high
With sparking balls on every slope.
It’s the time to rejoice, O world!
Rejoice, O world! Christmas’ nigh.
Hark to the melodies, O world!
Of jingling bells and carol voice
Filling the air with merry and joy;
Of every shrewd little girl and boy
Prattling about their gifts and toys.
Kitchens perfumed with scents of cake
And wonderful pies our ladies make;
Ecstasy, glee, bliss and surprises enfold
The people, creating the magic of the Magi.
Gather around the tree, O world!
Spread the message to everyone nearby:
It’s time to bury the worries of yesterday,
And celebrate the day with a happy hurray.
Rejoice O world, the birth of Christ!
Rejoice O world, for Christmas’ nigh!
