For Lack Of A Cure Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

For Lack Of A Cure

A pill to bring you pleasure
Or a pill to stop the pain
A pill to calm the acid
That seems to burn inside your veins
A pill to make you happy
Or a pill to make you numb
A pill to silence the words
That are flying from your tongue
A pill to bring you rest
Or a pill to bring you closer to the Gods
A pill to stop the outbursts
From hindering your public facade
A pill to bring you peace
Or a pill to calm the thudding in your chest
A pill to silence the disembodied voices
That are screaming from your depths
A pill to ease your suffering
Or a pill to soothe your bleeding heart
A pill to stop the insanity
Before it can be bid to start
A pill to keep you in waking
Or a pill to lull you into sleep
A pill to chase away the relentless memories
That haunt your most restless dreams
A pill to steady your trembling body
Or a pill to be sure your hands don't shake
A pill to balm your turbulent emotions
If only for society's sake
A pill to keep you as you are
Or a pill to make you change
But there is no cure to solve your problems
For in the end they're all the same
A pill may temporarily stall the aching
Or keep emotions from ripping you apart
But I can assure you that there is no pill
That can cure a broken heart
