For Leonard Cohen (A Tribute To Him) Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

For Leonard Cohen (A Tribute To Him)

Leonard Cohen the poet I search him
Into his songs,
Who the man gliding,
Taking long strides,
How the lover?

A Canadian singer
He is a Jew,
So close to America
A singer Canadian
Singing of Canada and its beyond.

A lover of Suzanne, Marianne,
Let him take first Manhattan, then Berlin,
A singer of hallelujah,
He is a poet of love and loss and resignation
And of a bold re-assertion in faith.
