For Many Years I'Ve Been In Love With Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

For Many Years I'Ve Been In Love With Nature

For many years I've been in love with Nature
She is my Goddess of that I won't lie
She is the only God that I do know of
And I will love her 'til the day I die.

The only God that I can claim to worship
Her beauty is around me everywhere
I see her every day in places local
And she too lives in the bigger World out there.

I see her in the parks of Town and City
And a walk in her quiet places I enjoy
And I've always loved her as my Earthly Goddess
Since the time I was a primary school-going boy

The poets have written songs and poems about her
Her fauna, flora, waterways and trees
In Spring the nesting birds sing in the wood by the mountain
Before sundown in the cool evening breeze.

For many years i've been in love with Nature
The only God of which i claim to know
Her streams and rills flow into her big rivers
And her rivers into her great oceans flow.
