She was there at the beginning
When the world was new to me -
She was there to turn to happy times
Those when I was hurt and sad.

She was there to listen to my stories
And when I asked, to give advice -
She was there to tell me when I'm down,
'Kaya mo yan anak! ' or 'sana ako na lang..'

She was there when I needed her
when mocking 'friends' are around,
She told me 'For me you're still the best',
And it felt better, and made me strong again

I thank God for my mother
She is my life and my backbone
She is the greatest blessing I ever had,
I love you Nanay Lucy Gabanes,
