For Nathen - Poem by Christal Carpenter

Heart broken
Torn and shaken
Tears fall from my eyes
Stain my pillow
Light pink and yellow
The sun refuses to rise

Dull and gray
I feel the way
I have never felt before
I cried all night
My throat is raw and tight
I want to feel this no more

I do forgive
My love will live
But I keep thinking of my fears
The world keeps turning
Tho my eyes are burning
With my salty bitter tears

My love is hurt
I feel like dirt
My thoughts refuse to close
The pain in my heart
The tears again start
My trust died like a wilted rose
