Would for a peculiar single lone day
As if by chance all time confused,
You looked at me in a Loving way
Now such laws of fate removed.
For no intruder had claimed that cherished hand
And joined their Heart with yours,
To myself alone all life was planned
And all that Love procures.
For to myself those eyes gave way
Unto myself those smiles,
My Soul desires would be at play
By all that Love provides.
And in the Hours that lie ahead
My devotion clearly true,
All bridled Love my Heart has bred
Will serve that term for you.
If only; if only for a single day
And the Stars were favoured well,
I'd pray the Gods prolong my stay
And there forever dwell.
