I stand at farmhouse gate
In sunshine with so much to relate
How green field speaks for hard work!
The mother earth smiles with kind word
I am farmer at heart
But fail to understand lovely art
How many birds and insects take shelter?
The small piece of land speaks altogether
I have been granted for service in return
Small portion of youth was spent in turn
It makes me to thrill at nature’s award
I look towards and hear their chirping sound
For one grain it provides thousands
It turns wealth from clay and sand
I bow my head in recognition
And think its invaluable contribution
Wind blows at no speed
Shakes plant as if it heeds
I find everything in tune
Nature makes them certainly immune
Now it has become my part
I want to stay with no intention to depart
From so close association with hard work
To that of easy life in offices and workshops
