For Thirty Four Years Poem by Francis Duggan

For Thirty Four Years

For thirty four years I have been penning rhyme
And in minutes and hours that does seem a long time
Perhaps in written words I have said all I should have to say
Still I cannot give my addiction away
I've loved Mother Nature since I was a boy
And a walk in her World is a thing I enjoy
Of singing her praises I never could tire
There's so much about her for one to admire
The songs of the birds on the bushes and trees
And the hummings and buzzings of flies and of bees
Like most life forms in Nature they are born with a song
To Nature us humans do also belong
And after some thirty four years of penning of stuff
Some say call it quits you have written enough.
