English is not my mother tongue
Yet I take it as my medium of expression
First, I stumble then I stagger now I walk
Before I babble now like a four year child I talk
If one day I learn how to swim and fly
And cross the English channel and meet with you
Come with courage, oh, English men, do not be shy.
My fellow men, the regional poets
I know you can express well in your mother tongue
And write volumes like a sage
Yet if you are not recognized
Globally
Then do not blame fate or frown at me.
