Forgetfulness Poem by Abdul Wahab

Forgetfulness

Rating: 3.5

I resolve
in the morning

rising up from bed
every day

that I will not allow it
to harass me any more

I must forget
and give it forgiveness

as a dowry
but I forget to forget

it reoccurs
again and again

and it makes
new, new fresh waves

in the fountain of memories
long and deep

strikes hard at the lone shore
like incurable wounds

whenever I am alone
or I am in solitude

Forgetting is a bliss. Not forgetting to forget causes pain. Nicely described.
