Forever 18 Poem by Abby Sze

Forever 18

I want to see through this illusion
Of the 3 dimensional universe
Where we can sing along song or simply have some fun
Where you are not staying forever 18

I visited you today
The wild wind smashing head messing my hair
Wouldn't want to spend another second at where you're now
Sometimes it's just hard to see those carving on that stone
Reminding me you're forever 18

Would you still recall who I am
When I travel across the universe
Stepping up and recognise your long lost face
Of those freckles on your right cheek
Would you still hold my little finger
That we always do until the year of your 18

It's not like you're a chalk board
Nor you're are some footprint on the sand
You're not some pencil writing
That I can erase
Sadly you are the hard truth for me to swallow
At mid night as I think of my little brother
Who stays forever 18
