Forever Happily Gone Poem by Sasha Claire Beckains

Forever Happily Gone

Tired of the way you treat
me, I'm alway some kind of
slave.
You never really cared for
me, I'm just an unpaid
maid.
You smooth things out when
necessary, just to make me
stay, but I'm tired of being
your puppet every single day.
Do this and that for no
credit; not even a simple
thanks.
Always to your own benefit
and a scolding to my face.
And you wonder why I'm
leaving; right after I
graduate; there's no point in
believing that life will
ever change.
I'll be glad to leave you,
and then you'll see your
pay.
Wanting to leave you with
only your shame.
And when I'm finally out,
you'll be looking for me
then, but by the time your
sorrows grow, I'll be gone
before you can count to ten.

you'll see your pay..........that's ok if that's what you meant to write. it would make sense. but maybe you meant you'll see, you'll pay....? i like this quite a bit. the main character surely has good reason to leave. thank you once in a while can do wonders sometimes. bri
