Forever Or For Now


It was ever the irony
founded upon fluid dynamics
temperamental temporal dichotomies

and how I would come to see
regret insanest incendiaries
grumbling guilt hollow shadows imaginary

yours would be ever mistaken to carry

mine love with gratitude
adoration surpassing platitudes
profoundest ineffable enduring beatitude

And as to those two syllables
incomprehensible
empty finality dare never brave bear

of such to you these words in lieu
stepping off our carousel's
muted musical chairs:

it is time once more to take our bows
