FORGETTING HAPPENS Poem by Jan Lauwereyns

FORGETTING HAPPENS

What a bitter day
it has kept being

the wind keeps howling
back there in my memory implant

strange lives keep swimming
forwards backwards

schools of fish dead issues

my windscreen wipers minimal

the rain
the squeaking

the nightingale's flight

do you hate it
is it raining

washing across and away.
