Forgiveness Poem by sookdeo manansingh manansingh

Forgiveness

To return to my youthfulness
in the mirror of my dream
I see the many bubbles of mistakes
flowing in the stream
the moments of tragedy I encounter
so close to the edge
it reminds me of the weeds in my garden
crossing the hedge

I once traveled with the speed of the wind
but have the strength no more
today I have the patience to look at the waves
coming to the shore
the mountains I climb have distant
themselves from my feet
in silence I sit like a sage
waiting for my creator to meet

I am half blind but the vision in my mind
does not completely disappear
there is yet time for the clouds of desire
to fall and remove my fear
to see the flowers blossom in spring
enlightens me to have wisdom and faith
the cosmic world in my mind
removes the barrier of time
before the call to heaven I must wait

the words of wisdom to bring life
is like the artistic impression to paint
it is my duty to plough into my consciousness
I will not faint
I seek the assistance of the birds
to reveal what it means to fly
I am a human being
bound by time and all I can ask for
is forgiveness when I must die.
