Forgotten Poem by Linda Ori

Forgotten

Rating: 3.0

I used to be the one you chose
To tell your troubles to,
I listened to your heartfelt words
When you were down and blue;

I was always there for you
Like you were there for me,
But lately things have changed - you're not
The way you used to be;

In your words a sadness
Has stripped the color bare;
And all the warmth that used to be
Just simply isn't there;

Words that used to mean so much
No longer dear to you,
I'm not sure that you hear them now -
The way you used to do;

You seem to be preoccupied
Your mind no longer here,
You've moved into another space
You're motives are unclear;

The pattern now repeats itself
Just like it's always been -
I kept the pace, but lost the race.............
Forgotten once again.

And so it goes. Love's sad old familiar song. But sometimes those who seem to be forgetting get their share further down the road, when their heart catches up with them. Heartbreak is always round the corner for some people though - maybe most people - but especially those capable of deep and true love. This oozes sadness Linda, and reads so smoothly and easily. Very gentle on the ear but sore on the heart. Terrific writing as always, and from the heart! xx jim

I hope that this is just your muse speaking, Linda...always sad when loved ones are taken for granted. I would vote with my feet! A well written - albeit sad -testament to familiarity. Jack.
