Fortune is the gift we never see
its the house that keeps us warm
its that job that keeps us going
and the food that's on our table
our friends who ask how we are you doing
its the dog that's by our side
or the fat cat on your tummy
it can be the wife or the husband
and the son and the daughter
or the smile of a stranger on a bad day
it is not fame or billion dollar greed
for fortune is the wealth of living with met needs
A beautiful and meaningful poem. I concur with your wonderful thoughts. Happiness and contentment in life never rest on fame or how much wealth we have. Very inspiring. To my favorites.
