Forward Springs

Rating: 5.0

a northern dweller-
ice monger to boot-
i bow to greet

the arrival of the great
southern sun, and post
this plea for compassion:

spare us miserable fools here
the fiery furies
of your wrathful whirlwinds!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Last winter I almost died. So, this winter my goal was, and still is, simply, to survive it. Anyway, since it's spring, and I'm writing this, I feel a modest degree of self-congratulations is not out of order. Don't you agree?
