Fossil Echoes Poem by soren Barrett

Fossil Echoes

Only in its living flame can life be seen
Emotions distorted in the weather of time
stretch, bend, fade, loose their sheen
sacrifice turns to crime, butchery sublime

A dirty mirror, cracked and broken
Blind visions reversed, distorted
A revenant from a torn cocoon of words spoken
Years in silk chains leaves hope contorted

Fields of gossamer corrodes and rusts,
fading sticky strands of age,
bound lumps, of victims dusts,
seasons a recipe of rage

Spun cobwebs, drawn by twitches
Cubist paintings as a photograph
The brain's trash, riches
Echoes set in stone as an epitaph
