Fred Deree's Neighbor Poem by Francis Duggan

Fred Deree's Neighbor

Who is your neighbor you ask Fred Deree
He say my neighbor is not the one who lives next to me
Not what you would call a friend in any way
Whenever we meet we just mutter good day
He is not my enemy and he is not my friend
And he is not one on whom that i could depend
If i were feeling sad and financially down
To be the one to come to my aid in the town
If you asked my neighbor about me perhaps he would say
I does seem him often he does seem okay
He may be my neighbor and he is not my foe
But when you ask is he my friend to this i say no
He is my neighbor Fred Deree say
Though on him i would not depend in any way.
