Freedom Isn't Free Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Freedom Isn't Free

Freedom isn't free it's something we always hear.
As we listen to the voices, echo loud and clear.
There are those that are willing to stand up for our rights.
They are the brave ones, who won't back down from any fights.

As they serve their families and their proud nation,
There's no telling when, they'll see either one again.
Away from home, their family is each other,
They consider themselves as sisters and brothers.

So many times people will misunderstand,
But when you're sleeping, that's when they stand.
Everyone takes for granted who they really are,
They're defenders of freedom near and far.

When you think of your life don't ever forsake,
Take time to reflect the sacrifices they make.
They give a sacrifice, for the way that we live.
So, salute a veteran, it's the least that you can give.
