Freewheeling Poem by Frances M

Freewheeling

Dancing
romancing
prancing
enchanting
feeling
and dealing
freewheeling
down the hill
rolling
behind an apple cart
take the brakes off
let yourself glide
young
and free
and liberated
down
down
wind in your hair
forget your cares
see your parents
on the way down
wave hello
smile
and carry on
carry on
down the hill
mile after mile
young and free
smell the beauty
of your youth
chuck the memories
in your satchel bag
save them for later
and carry on
carry on
down the hill
rolling rolling
faster faster
take the brakes off
fall off once
fall off twice
climb back on
and carry,
carry on
