Fresh Air Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fresh Air

Fresh air

Fresh air in and out
-outer felt by skin
-ear gets the inner
-either one attractive

The outer goes backward
-penetrates into time
-a life of mountainside…
-trees, farms, animals
-birds free, go around
-Sun-ripen the fruits
-act girlish, early teens
-their breasts walnut size:
-"Brave can come eat this! "
-and the boys are in race
-regardless of the fall…
-broken, bloodied and in pain…

Freshness of inside is from two robots
-Two mothers, too sweet, sacrifice
-the weekend rest in bed given up;
-Two anchors; of news, stream
-start work around five
-at three they wake up
-still laugh sweet soft; and kind
-comments make the concerned cry:
-"Have two kids…"
-says the first ad goes on:
-…one of them year and half…
-…needs changing around one…"
-motherly, womanly; humane:
"Not again…" and she laughs:
-"…want to say: ‘go to bed'…"
-her shiver can be felt in her voice
-"…but cannot…"

Her colleague:
-"I can feel…we live in the same boat…"
-Two mothers, so lovely, hardworking; …
-this is how we were told of mothers
-and sisters; wives to be: "Respect them."
